Western States Valuation is a real estate appraisal firm specializing in appraisal and consultation on commercial property and land. Michael D. Vowles is the principal of the firm. He has 20 years experience as an appraiser and real estate consultant. Much of our appraisal and real estate work is in the intermountain west states including Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado.
Mike graduated with a Bachelors degree in Finance and soon began work as an appraiser trainee with Wall Appraisal Company. During his tenure there he obtained the Certified General License qualification and then the MAI designation, which is the highest designation as a commercial real estate appraiser. Many consider the MAI designation more rigorous than and at least equivalent to a masters degree. Mike began work with the U.S. Forest Service as a Review Appraiser from July 2011 to May 2013. In May 2013, he created and established Western States Valuation. He chose to set up office in Ogden, Utah because of its unique character.
We perform appraisals on all types of commercial property including office, retail, industrial, warehouse, restaurant, auto service, car wash, assisted living facilities, etc. Clients include lenders, government agencies, private parties, and attorneys. Mike also has experience as an expert witness, with litigation support, wills, estate planning, estate purposes, tax appeal, and divorce. He has also done consulting and can provide valuable assistance, knowledge, research, and perspective to any real estate related project. In addition to appraisal and consultation, he performs appraisal review.
